Birthsound (2009)
Digital video (19:11min loop)
Birthsound uses found video footage and sound to explore how reproductive labors might be materialized through visual and sonic repetition. The 19min film plays on a continuous loop, cycling through visual and auditory crescendos. Overlapping images draw the viewer’s attention to the screen as a site of emergence. Birthsound was screened at the Slought Foundation in Philadelphia as part of the exhibition Emergent Perspectives 1:5:25 (May 15-June 15, 2009).
